Synthetic or conventional oil?
Conventional oil and filter replacement
Take the old oil out, put the new oil in! Simple in theory, but staying clean while doing it and safely disposing of the old oil can present some challenges to the mechanically disinclined. The filter should also be replaced so the new oil can perform as efficiently as possible.
Synthetic oil and filter replacement
The main difference between synthetic oil and conventional oil? The synthetic stuff lasts longer and extends the life of your engine, but it’s more expensive. Some newer vehicles require synthetic (Teslas excluded).
