This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains what personal information will be collected by RepairMatch and its affiliates when you use and related Internet services (the “Service”), how the personal information will be used and disclosed, and how you can control the collection, correction and deletion of personal information. We will not use or share your personal information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. We do use and share non-personal information from time to time, as described below.

Information We Collect

Personal Information: You may voluntarily provide us information about yourself and your vehicle(s), such as your name, phone number and e-mail address, credit card information, the make, model, year, mileage, and repair history of your vehicle(s), and other information about yourself or another identifiable individual (collectively, “Personal Information”) when you interact with the Service. If you correspond with us by e-mail, we may retain the content of your e-mail messages, your e-mail address, and our responses, all of which may contain Personal Information. You voluntarily choose whether or not to submit any Personal Information. While you may choose not to provide certain or any Personal Information, certain areas and features of the Service may be unavailable or not fully functional without such Personal Information._

Cookies and Tracking Technologies: When you visit, we may collect and store information about your visit on an anonymous, aggregate basis using “cookie” technology. A cookie is an element of data that a Web site can send to your browser, which may then store the cookie on your hard drive. Cookies may tell us the time and length of your visit, the pages you look at on our sites, and the site you visited just before coming to ours. Ads: We use Google Analytics, Google AdWords Conversion tracker, and other Google services that place cookies on a browser across the website. We use AdWords remarketing to market our sites across the web. We place a cookie on a browser, and then a 3rd party (Google) reads these cookies and may serve an ad on a 3rd party site. Remarketing: Remarketing is powerful ads used to serve ads across the content network to people who previously visited our website. This is done by using cookies.

Payment Information: If you use the Service for payments or financial transactions (for example, when you pay a fee, commission or deposit on for an automotive repair or service), our third party payment provider will collect information about the payment or financial transaction. This includes your payment information, such as your credit or debit card number and other card information, and other account and authentication information, as well as billing, shipping and contact details.  This payment information will be used to process your transaction and for no other purpose.  Your payment information will be further subject to the posted privacy policy of our third party payment provider.

Log File Information: Log file information is automatically reported by your browser each time you access a web page. When you register with or view our website, our servers automatically record certain information that your web browser sends whenever you visit any website. These server logs include technical information, such as your web request, IP address, browser type, referring / exit pages and URLs, number of clicks, domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, and other such information.

Third-Party Cookies: The use of cookies by the automotive repair and service shops in our member network, which we refer to as Preferred Shops, and other third parties are not covered by this Privacy Policy.

How We Use Your Information

We use the Personal Information you submit to operate, maintain, and provide to you the features and functionality of the Service. Any Personal Information or content that you voluntarily disclose for posting to the Service (for instance, any content you post) may become available to the public. If you remove or delete such content, copies may remain viewable in cached and archived pages or if other users have copied or stored such content.

We use the Personal Information you submit to communicate with you about the Service, let you know about our Terms and Conditions of Use, and respond to you when you contact us.

By providing RepairMatch your e-mail address and/or mobile phone number, you consent to our using the e-mail address and/or mobile phone number to send you Service-related communications and notices, including any notices required by law, in lieu of communication by postal mail. RepairMatch may use and share aggregate information that is not Personal Information for the following purposes: analyzing how the Service is used, diagnosing service or technical problems, developing new services, maintaining security, and developing advertisements, offers, and promotions.

RepairMatch reserves the right, but has no obligation, to monitor the content you post on our website. RepairMatch has the right to remove any such information or material for any reason or no reason, including without limitation, if in its sole opinion, such information or material violates, or may violate, any applicable law or our Terms and Conditions of Use or to protect or defend its rights or property or those of any third party. RepairMatch also reserves the right to remove information upon the request of any third party.

How We Share Your Information

Personal Information: RepairMatch will not rent or sell your Personal Information to others. We may disclose your Personal Information to our professional advisors, contractors, business associates, related companies, and others who have agreed to treat your Personal Information in accordance with the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy or otherwise in compliance with applicable law. RepairMatch may also share your Personal Information with its affiliates and third parties for the purpose of providing services to help us with our business activities such as matching your automotive repair and service requests, tracking repair and service performed on your vehicle, verifying that the repair and service occurred at a Preferred Shop, and verifying the success or your satisfaction with such service. If we do this, such third parties’ use of your information will be bound by this Privacy Policy.  We may disclose your email address to our partners who provide services that you may be interested in.

We may store and process Personal Information in locations outside the direct control of RepairMatch (for instance, on servers or databases co-located with hosting providers). In such cases, the Personal Information may be stored in the United States where it may be accessible to local law enforcement, courts, and national security authorities.

As we develop our business, if the ownership or control of all or part of the Service or its assets changes, we may transfer your Personal Information to the new owner. We may also transfer such information to prospective owners or their professional advisors in the course of corporate divestitures, mergers, or dissolution. In any such transfer of information, your information would remain subject to this Privacy Policy. Non-Personally Identifiable Information: We may share or sell aggregate non-personally identifiable information (such as anonymous or aggregated usage or vehicle data, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform types, number of clicks, etc.) with interested business partners for the following purposes: to help them understand (i) the usage patterns for certain RepairMatch services and (ii) industry changes in supply and demand for repair services, pricing trends for repairs, types of repairs provided and volume, among other things.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies:  RepairMatch allows other companies, called third-party ad servers or ad networks, to serve advertisements on the RepairMatch website. These third-party ad servers or ad networks use technology to send, directly to your browser, the advertisements and links that appear on RepairMatch. They automatically receive your IP address when this happens. They may also use other technologies (such as cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons) to measure the effectiveness of their advertisements and to personalize the advertising content.

We may share any information (including Personal Information) with governmental agencies or other third parties assisting us in fraud prevention or investigation. We may do so when: (1) permitted or required by law; (2) trying to protect against or prevent actual or potential fraud or unauthorized transactions; or (3) investigating fraud which has already taken place.

RepairMatch uses commercially reasonable physical, managerial, and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of your Personal Information. We cannot, however, ensure, warrant or guarantee the security of any information you transmit to RepairMatch and you do so at your own risk. We have no control over the security of your networks or of third party networks over which your information may travel en route to or from our systems. Compromise of Personal Information

In the event that Personal Information is compromised as a result of a breach of security, RepairMatch will comply with applicable law in responding to and notifying you about such breach.

Your Choices About Your Information

You may, of course, decline to submit Personal Information through RepairMatch, in which case RepairMatch and the Preferred Shops may not be able to provide certain services to you. You may update, modify, correct, or delete your account information and e-mail preferences at any time by logging in to your account. You can review and correct the Personal Information about you that RepairMatch keeps on file by contacting us directly at We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe. We will retain your Personal Information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services, and we may retain your Personal Information until you request its deletion (and thereafter if permitted or required by applicable law). We will retain and use your Personal Information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you use a bulletin board, blog, or chat room on our website, you should be aware that any Personal Information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these forums, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the Personal Information you choose to submit in these forums. For that reason, RepairMatch does not knowingly collect or solicit Personal Information from anyone under the age of 16 or knowingly allow such persons to register.
